What Matters Most at This Stage?
As your child steps into a new level of independence, we focus on:
Four is a magical year. Your child is growing into themselves — more confident, more capable, and more curious than ever before. They’re asking thoughtful questions, mastering new skills, and becoming a true friend and problem solver. At Pacesetter Academy, we meet this exciting stage with encouragement, enrichment, and just the right amount of challenge.
As your child steps into a new level of independence, we focus on:
Four-year-olds are in constant motion — hopping, climbing, balancing, and testing their boundaries with greater coordination and strength.
This is the year children start making connections. They notice patterns, ask “why?” more often, and begin to use logic to solve problems.
Language blooms at this stage — your child is telling stories, expressing ideas clearly, and participating in more structured conversations.
With deeper empathy
and emotional awareness, four-year-olds begin forming stronger friendships and learning how to navigate group dynamics.
Your four-year-old is ready
to take on more responsibility— and we give them the tools to do it with pride.
By age four, your child’s ability to understand and apply safety concepts grows even more. They are beginning to recognize the importance of personal responsibility, such as keeping their belongings organized and taking care of their physical needs. We continue to emphasize safe play, teaching them to respect the boundaries of others and to follow rules that keep everyone safe.
Hygiene practices become more consistent, with children taking full ownership of handwashing, brushing teeth, and self-care routines. We also continue promoting healthy habits, with an emphasis on nutrition, physical activity, and rest, helping them prepare for the more structured routines of kindergarten.
Pacesetter Academy is arguably the best Preschool in the Miramar/Pembroke Pines area. My child has been attending this school for about a year and a half and his knowledge base has increased tremendously. I also appreciate them remaining open during this pandemic, allowing me to continue to work and my child to continue in his learning growth.
Our approach, rooted in the renowned HighScope Curriculum, nurtures young minds by fostering a love of learning through active engagement, independent exploration, and comprehensive growth.
We recognize that four-year-olds develop at different rates. Our teachers provide tailored support that challenges each child while honoring their pace.
With daily rhythms that mix structured lessons and open-ended play, we give children the freedom to explore while introducing them to the joys of learning.
PK4 is a time of deep social learning. We foster a sense of belonging where children feel seen, supported, and celebrated.
We keep you informed and involved with regular updates, shared goals, and open conversations about your child’s growth and development.
